Hallo, I am Elly from Germany and I am 91 years old. I always believed in God, but I stopped going to traditional church in 1952 because all I could see was hypocrisy. However I still believed that God existed.
In 1980 my dog died. I was very sad and just couldn’t get over the grief. I decided that I needed to get away for a while and I went for a trip around Australia.
My heart was deeply touched
One day when I was travelling on the Sunshine coast, I saw a young man singing Gospel songs and playing the guitar. My heart was deeply touched and I couldn’t stop listening to him. A few days later I was standing in front of a building with a “Revival Centres Australia” sign on it. I didn’t know what it meant, but in that moment two people came and encouraged me to come with them. Inside I saw that I had been invited to a Christian meeting. Suddenly I noticed the young man who had been playing the guitar the other day amongst the members of the church. I instantly knew that I belonged there as well.

I got baptised in the Maroochy river and six months later, only a few days before I had to go back to Germany, I received the Holy Spirit and I spoke in tongues. After all these years I can still remember how happy and released I felt in that moment!
Back in Germany the Lord continued to have his hands upon me. I walked away unharmed from a car accident which could have killed me.

Two years ago I was diagnosed with bowel cancer, but I was extremely lucky. The tumor was removed and I didn´t need any further treatment. After the operation I could hardly feel any pain and the doctors were amazed how quickly my wounds healed. I haven´t had any signs of cancer ever since.
Despite my old age I am feeling well and I still drive my old VW which allows me to be independent.
I know that wherever we are, the Lord always looks after us and takes care of his people.
