I truly thank and praise God for hearing and answering my prayers when I cried out to Him about 21 years ago.
I was extremely depressed at the time and realized I was heading for a nervous breakdown. I was living on drugs – anti-depressants and valium and I felt life wasn’t worth living.

I had always believed in God but I had stopped attending the orthodox churches, all I found there was a lot of Sunday Christians and much hypocrisy. I tried a couple of other religions but they didn’t seem to satisfy me; however I got down on my knees and poured my heart out to God on many occasions asking Him to help me and to please show me His TRUE Church.

I knew it had to be different to those I had been involved in. After many months He guided me in a miraculous way to the Bendigo Revival Centre. The first meeting I attended I was impressed by the happy, friendly people, and the talk was directly from the Bible with everyone following the scriptures in their own Bible.
After the Communion service (Where the gifts of the Holy Spirit were operated) I went out to the prayer line for God’s guidance and healing. When the Pastor laid hands on me and prayed I felt the Power of God go through my body, and I knew this was where the Lord had led me.

He had answered my prayers! I was shown from the Bible that I now needed to Repent and be Baptised in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sin, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:38). This I did, and God kept His promise and filled me with His Holy Spirit, with the evidence of speaking in a new language just as the disciples were anointed by the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost. (Acts 2:4). I shall never forget that miracle in my life, feeling the power of God changing my tongue, and this wonderful prayer language flowing from my inner most being.

My depression and need for drugs was completely healed, and I was given a “New” life, full of peace and joy and the love of God. I was now able to pray to God with this new language which was the evidence of His Spirit dwelling within me – The Comforter which Jesus said He would send. The Lord had control of my life from that day on and now when problems arise I turn to Him and He leads me through. After seeing the change in my life my husband too had a desire to follow the Lord and a few months later he was baptised and filled with the Holy Spirit with the same Bible evidence of speaking in a new tongue.

Praise the Lord for all His blessings, His protection, healings and guidance, and I thank Him for the peace and comfort He gave me when I lost my husband a year ago. I thank Him too for guiding my daughter, her husband and my four grandchildren to also obey His word all having received the wonderful gift of the Holy Spirit. We all look forward to the soon return of our Lord Jesus Christ as we see the signs spoken of in the Bible becoming more and more evident each day.

Dorothy wrote this testimony in 1995 , and now at 95 years of age is looking intently for the return of the Lord.
