I grew up in a traditional church and was told that I had received the Holy Spirit but nothing in my life changed.

I was living in Melbourne 18 years ago when my sister Helen told me about the Lord’s salvation.  One day I asked her where she was going and she replied to church.  I went along with her to the meeting and enjoyed myself and liked what I heard about the Holy Spirit.  I was baptized by immersion at that meeting and some time later I received the Holy Spirit speaking in other tongues like my sister said would happen. I felt calm, I felt different I felt like I had come home

My husband David was also baptized and filled with the Holy Spirit. His life also changed, he was able to give up drinking and smoking and our marriage was strengthened.

It took me some time to get used to the meetings and my new life and at times felt confused particularly when family and friends opposed my belief. But with prayer and encouragement I had peace.

I had an accident with boiling water being spilled over me and I suffered 3rd degree burns to my face, neck, chest and arms.

The doctors at the hospital were very concerned about my injuries and that complications may prevent me from walking again.   I praise the Lord for a good recovery and bringing me through this time. The Lord gave me peace in this situation that I would be OK.

Now living in Grafton on the North Coast of NSW I travel each week to our RCI meetings in Coffs Harbour and really enjoy the fellowship with others in our church, God’s provision and I am looking forward to growing in God’s ways.
